I have Autocad release 12 for DOS. It comes with pharlap.386, which
allows Autocad (a 32 bit 'dos extended' program) to be run from a
Windows 3.1 DOS box. Does anyone know of a similar driver for NT, so
that Autocad can be run from the NT command prompt.

Thanks,

Anything that can be run under a Win3.1 DOS box should run under
an NT DOS box. In fact, more stuff will run, eg DOOM won't run under 3.1
but will run under NT. THis is probably due to the later release of the
DPMI server in NT - version 1.0 I believe, vs 3.1's ver 0.91.

Actually Windows NT currently supports DPMI 0.9 not 1.0 in VDM's.

I hope you guys plan on upgrading this to Version 1.0. 0.9
doesn't do virtual memory for DMPI apps. This is irritating.
Several compilers I use can't find enough memory even though I have
plenty of swap space sitting around feeling lonely.
NT usually gives them a random amount of memory every time you load
up the compiler. It looks as if its the amount of physical memory current
available.
Is this something that is going to be addressed in an upcomming version??

The request for DPMI support > 0.9 has been communicated to development.
However, I can't comment on whether it will be provided in the
next release of Windows NT or not.
