We have a large NT environment, within which all of our users have
roaming profiles. These profiles are locked down exceedingly hard as
many of our workers are unused to working with computers. The majority
of them do not have any kind of internet access.
However, recently we have given one of our users full internet access,
however she has hit a snag. When she goes to any site that uses
cookies, she is asked whether she would like to accept them. No matter
which choice she makes, that dialogue comes up every time she goes to a
site that uses cookies.
I suspect that the fact that her user profile gives her no permission
to access the registry is the cause of this, but how do I get around
this, without allowing her profile registry access? I have checked the
1A02 DWORD value under
HKEY_USERS\Rachel\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSett
ings where Rachel is her NTUser.dat loaded as Hive. The value on this
is zero which supposedly allows the action. This seems to make no
difference.
Please help as this is driving me up the wall...
