Please help Event id 1008 in Application log

I have run into this perflib error far to long ... Can anyone provide
information on fixxing the following error once and for all.

Event 1008
DEsc.
The Open Procedure for service "ContentIndex" in DLL "QPerf.dll" failed.
Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code
returned is DWORD 0.

over and over and over it goes in my logs ... please help
