Please help me with my modem!

I set up a modem in windows 95(rockwell v90 56K0
it can be seen in the System List but whenever
I tried dialing , it says "no response from modem"
I have applied for Touch Tone service and connect
the phone line to the modem in the right way
I just cann't figure it out --- anyone can help me?

Easiest thing to try first is to remove the modem in Device properties.
Reboot. Windows will find and reinstall your modem. If it asks you to point
it somewhere, you'll need either: your win9x cd, your installation disk
that came with your modem, or change the attributes to the INF folder under
C:\Windows\ to NOT hidden, then point to that folder.
Reboot.
Try it now..
