Compare and Contrast...cant tell you for sure...
Here is the main difference though:
BEFVP41 - EtherFast Cable/DSL VPN Router with 4-Port 10/100 Switch
The Instant BroadbandT EtherFast Cable/DSL VPN Router from Linksys is the
ideal solution for remotely accessing a network securely over the Internet
using cuttingedge encryption and authentication methods.
Built from the popular standard Linksys 4Port Router Model BEFSR41, the VPN
Router expands its functionality and security features by utilizing 56bit
DES and 168bit 3DES encryption, and Internet Key Exchange (IKE). A builtin
IPSec coprocessor from Hifn allows for complete data privacy for the access
and exchange of your most sensitive data from your home to your corporate
network or between remote branch offices without the additional cost of
IPSec VPN client software for each computer. Mobile workers can also connect
to a corporate network using an IPSec based VPN client software solution.
The EtherFast Cable/DSL VPN Router is capable of conducting up to 70
simultaneous IPSec VPN tunnels while allowing additional savings with no
upgrade fees or technical support costs.
BEFSR41 - EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch
The Linksys EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch is the perfect
option to connect multiple PCs to a high-speed Broadband Internet connection
or to an Ethernet back-bone. Allowing up to 253 users, the built-in NAT
technology acts as a firewall protecting your internal network.
Configurable as a DHCP server for your existing network, the EtherFast®
Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch acts as the only externally recognized
Internet device on your local area network (LAN). The router can also be
configured to block internal users' access to the Internet. A typical router
may have to rely on an external hub or switch to share its Internet
connection, but the Linksys EtherFast® Cable/DSL with 4-Port Switch Router
channels this connection through the blazing, full duplex speed of its
built-in EtherFast® 10/100 4-Port Switch.
This cutting-edge combination of router and switch technology eliminates the
need to buy an additional hub or switch and serves your network as a
completely dedicated, full duplex backbone. Now your entire network will
enjoy blazing Broadband Internet connections supported by its robust
switched backbone. With the dual-function speed and power of the EtherFast®
Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch, your network will take off at speeds
faster than you ever imagined possible.

So to me it seems like the BEFVP41 is a better deal with more options for
you to play around with, its built of the BEFSR41 stated above. But its all
your choice, btw your getting jipped if you byuy the BEFSR41 for 179 from
compusa, because they sell it on amazon for 79
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004SB92/qid=1020155291/sr=8-1/ref
=sr_8_67_1/002-9449782-6608847).
I use the BEFSR41 and i can say that its nice and does everything you would
need for setting up a network and sharing your internet connection to all
your pcs.

Thanks for your reply. As it turns out, I got the prices between the two
routers switched but there are still substantial savings through Amazon so
I'll probably buy the router and some NIC cards there. It sounds like the
lower priced BEFSR41 will do what I want so I'll probably go with that one.
Thanks again.
