I am looking for some more information on the PROs and CONs of three
protocals. We have a Novel network and are running NT.

The three protocals we are deciding on are:

Netbeui (Ohhh, I hope I spelled this on right =)
IPS/SPX
TCP/IP (of course =)

I would like any and all information you might have laying around.

Thanks so very much.

NetBEUI seems to provide better support amongst WorkGroups and is faster
supposedly that IPX/SPX. But NetBEUI is not routable, so it only works on
one segment. Works fine on smaller networks.

IPX/SPX is slower but is routable, so that it can get around on bigger
segmented networks. I experimented and remove NetBEUI from my PC at work.
I could only log onto other PCs that were on the same NT Server. I could
not see any body on the other server.

TCP/IP, well, you either need it or you don't.

I have found that NetBEUI as default protocol and IPX/SPX and TCP/IP let
me do what all we need. I read recently that MS is going to TCP/IP and
will begin to de-emphasize NetBEUI.
