Hi

I use emule a little and I have a network where I like to ensure that the
machines that use emule are able to port forward. My router needs an IP
address to port forward so I have a static IP address for each machine that
uses emule.

When i set a static ip address in windows vista i need to set a primary
dns - with the option of a secondary dns. How do I get these settings? I
generally use the ip of my router (eg 10.1.1.1) as the primary dns but I
dont know if this is correct.

Thanks

Doug

A couple of options:

- Find out the ip addresses of your ISP's DNS servers and use them.

- Or just use OpenDNS servers (find out how at http://www.opendns.com/)

fwiw, I've been using OpenDNS for years for my two primary DNS server
addresses - and they've proven to be more reliable that Comcast's DNS servers
(which might not be saying a whole lot ;-)
