I have a DNS entry with multiple A records.
For example, lets say I have test.jammconsulting.com resolve to these
two A records:
1.1.1.1
2.2.2.2
A lookup on test.jammconsulting.com will get back both DNS entries (I
checked ipconfig /displaydns and it does indeed show both IP
addresses).
Now, I tried visiting test.jammconsulting.com in my browser (IE8).
The page displayed was the one from the 1.1.1.1 server. I stopped the
web server on 1.1.1.1 and hit reload. When I did that, I got an error
that the page could not be displayed. It is supposed to display the
page from 2.2.2.2.
I tried this using Firefox and get the same result so it seems like
the machine and not the browser.
When I try the same test on my Linux machine, I get the page from
2.2.2.2 as I expected. As a matter of fact, I can switch the web
servers on and off and the linux machine will get the page from
whichever server is up at the time.
Is this a bug in Windows?
Thanks,
Neil
