I have a Toshiba Satellite notebook with Windows 98 installed and the
mouse cursor has trails. I have gone into to change the settings via
the control panel to remove the trails but it does not make any
difference if they are set on or off. The trails are still displayed.

The result is the same whether I use the built in pointing device or a
separate PS/2 type mouse. I don't have a serial mouse so I haven't
tried that option.

Can anybody offer any suggestions. I find mouse trails very
disconcerting. Is there a Registry seting that could be changed?

TIA
