I have one copy of windows7 installed in one my pc
the disk is a standard hard disk (not one solid state hard disk)

it seems the windows 7 NT kernel process, every 5 seconds read-write
something in the disk

if i not toch nothing for some minut
a proces (i don't know who) read-write in the disk not know
how many time (sure minutes; could be hours?) without rest

all these operation can damage the hard disk??

there is some option in windows7 for turn off all unnecessary
read write in the disk?
Thank you

These symptoms can be indicative of anything, from legitimate Windows
self-maintenance or logging, to over-enthusiastic malware. It quite
possibly is Windows Indexing, which checks all your files to make
searches faster.

It is unlikely to damage your hard-drive.

If you really want to find out which process it the culprit, try
Microsoft's own ProcessMonitor
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
which shows -among many other things- which files are being written to
in real-time
