I see. I didn't realize that it has been that long. Now let me ask a related
question. If an update is not expected in the foreseeable future, is there an
update in the works at all?
I started with a clean install, and made sure the installation order was VC
6, VC 6 SP3, CE Toolkit, CE SDKs. I _think_ you will be OK if you install
the VC 6 SP 3 and then reinstall the CE toolkit and SDKs. Uninstalling the
CE toolkits and SDKs before installing the VC 6 SP3 might be safer. If you
really can uninstall everything and start from scratch, that would certainly
be safer. But I have little faith in uninstallations (other than format :-)

I've seen several posts from folks installing the CE Toolkit over SP3, but
I read one post where someone was reporting what a Microsoft engineer had
told him. Apparently, when you install CE Toolkit over SP3, it replaces
actual files that were updated by SP3 with the older Toolkit files and that
eventually this will cause problems. Because of this, I'm wary of installing
both. Things might be working for you but I wonder if others might be having
problems.
FWIW, I have applied SP2. Are there major issues that are addressed by SP3?
Or can I live without it and wait until Microsoft updates the CE Toolkit?
