Sending 250kb of unsolicited commercial material
in a general news mailing is unacceptable behavior.

Are you aware some of us have to pay our own phone bills?

Barry,

Could you please be a bit more descriptive. What happened?

Some person, unknown to me and without my consent or knowlege, UUencoded my
WPcrak program (which recovers Wordperfect passwords) and posted this to the
internet. Since this program is a Windows program with a really nice
graphical icon driven interface, it was rather large (especially after the
UUencoding process).

I guess this guy thought it was really a good program and thought he would
share it with the world. To the fellow who complained about the phone bill I
will offer the program at half price...hmmm that has a nice ring to
it...hmmm...half price...

That's one thing about Windows programs, they are a real snap to use but they
do take up space (unlike some DOS based programs which are more difficult to
use and stuff like that there).

(Note to my good friends at Access data - Please be gentle on the flame-back,
I still am sending you my Wordperfect 6.0 customers ya know...).

Hi Barry,

Sorry about the posting Barry. It never dawned on me that posting a
binary file would be a problem. A little background:

Somebody posted a message stating he needed the file WPCRAK. It is a
shareware program for finding the password in WordPerfect files. I
had just recently researched program for finding passwords in MS Word
and also found information regarding WPCRAK. I tried to e-mail the
file direct to him, but he couldn't receive the file as an
attachment. I tried e-mailing the encoded file direct to him as a
message, but my software does not support files larger than 32k.
That's when the "bright idea" of posting the file to the group
occured to me. (He didn't have FTP access either.)

So, you are incorrect in stating it was "unsolicited commercial material."

However, next time I will post to a binary group and leave a message her.
