I have the font problem where the fonts are installed but Win95
doesn't recognize them. I finally discovered the Tweak UI program,
which I downloaded. It seems to run right, except that when I double
click "Repair Font Folder," it immediately gives me the message: you
will need to restart your computer for the remainder of the." There
is apparently more to the message, but my fonts are so messed up that
I don't get it. I reboot, but continue to get the same message. Any
help will be appreciated.

I suspect you have a serious problem in either the registry or your
windows\fonts directory. You can diagnose the windows\fonts directory
yourself. First run scandisk with the surface scan option to be sure
there are no problems on the disk. Then open c:\windows\fonts and
browse through the fonts looking for a problem font (one which will
not load or acuses system problems when you try to load it) When you
double click on any of the files you should be presented with an
example of the font. Loo also at the number of fonts, more than a few
hundred fonts can cause problems. Remove any unnecessary / unused
fonts. Then, if you found any problems using the above, rerun TweakUI.
If the problem persists, it could be deeper in the system. You could
attepmt one of the registry cleaning procedures ot get Nuts and Bolts
to diagnose deeper in the system.

Hope this helps,
Dave

Alex

I searched for the key you mentioned above. I have it in the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER root. But not in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE root. Should I
add it?

thanx,
