Does anyone know of an overview of the strengths/weaknesses of various
popular contact management systems, mainly ACT and JANNA?

Not sure about Janna, but we use the network version of ACT, which we
find rather unstable. It seems to crash fairly regularly (we think when
the network is busy and it cant be bothered to wait), corrupting the
database and requiring a restore rather too frequently for our liking.

Have you evalulated GoldMine? I have many customers who use it on a LAN
and they are pretty happy. What do you think?

Janna Personal moves along more quickly than Janna Contact95 which must
need mega Ram. Windows magazine carried a survey of these contact managers.
Both Act & Janna were given good critiques.

Only our sales area use Act and for some obtuse reason they seem happy
to put up with it. From a support point of view we find it a pain. Since
we got it we have never really looked at anything else.

Please reply to me at:

mpa...@hurricane.net

I am having a Problem with Windows95, of course, again.

My computer is a Compaq 9240
Pentium 133
48 megs Ram.
1.2 Gig HDD
28.8 Internal Compaq Modem
28.8 External USRobotics Sportster Modem

Problem:

While in Windows 95, I like to do multi tasking.
After I open up so many applications, such as

1. ProComm Plus for Win
2. File Manager
3. DOS-Prompt
4. Wildcat (My BBS must always be opened up)
5. QWK Offline Mail Reader.
6. Internet Explorer
7. Netscape

After about 30 Minutes, when I press the Following keys,

When I press the letter;

F.....(FIND ALL FILES) Pops up
E.....(Windows 95 Explorer) Pops up
M.....(Main Window) Pops up
R:....(RUN) Pops up

What is Wrong with Windows 95?

Also the keyboard Doesn't seem to be working when in DOS application.

This has caused so much inconvenience and most of the time causing me
to drop carrier on the Internet, and Local BBSes. This problem has
also caused me to loose unsaved files that I've worked on for hours.

After Experiencing this problems, the only way I can do is
to restart and rebbot my computer. Sometimes while a user is online my
BBS.
This is causing me inconvenience, cause I will then have to
wait until my BBS caller to log off then I would have to reset
my computer. I have looked in the settings of
Accesibilty Options, in the Control Panel, and everything is set right.
I've used Norton Anti-Virus and Mc Afee's Virus Scan to scan my HDD, but
still
have the problem. I'm about to smash the living crap out of this computer!

PLEASE HELP ME!

You know what, I agree. Lets everyone send a dollar. I mean you hardly ever see this type of honesty
on the internet. Unless he doesnt plan on buying the scanner, in which case he will still spend the money
you give him.

But thats not horrible either. If he spends the money, the merchants spend the money, etc, etc., the
economy grows.

So lets all do this.
