Windows 3.1 came with a free wordprocessor called Write.
It's in your Accessories.

I'm actually after something a bit more feature-rick than Write.
Is such an application available free or is that where the Shareware
apps. kick in?

I found this site through Yahoo (there are a few others)
http://jumbo.com/pages/desktop/sections.asp?x_sectionid=15607&ord=&mv=3
it has a couple Word Processors - I've heard of Yeah Write (16-bit) -
heard it was pretty useful - don't know if it's free though.
