Hello. Everything works fine except for the downloading. I keep getting
CRC errors and it slows the download down tremendously. I thought it might
be the modem, but I figure it's not. Here's the reason why: The system came witha built in 2400 buad internal modem. I recently got a 14.4 internal modem,
and the CRC error problem is still there. My sister had the problem when she
was at school with the 2400 so I'm not quite sure if it's the phone line or
not. I'm pretty sure it's not an irq conflict. I even tried messing around
with the download protocol settings, but that didn't help. I also tried
different protocols, going from z to y to x. Can anyone help me?

The advice I've been giving concerning this problem (which seems to be a
*VERY* common one) is before you start messing with device drivers and
IRQ's and all that crap, turn off any write back cache that you're
using. I was using SmartDrv's write back cache, and when I tried
downloading files with ZModem, all I got were CRC errors left and right.
After I turned off the write back cache, I had no more problems.
