Minix 2.0.4 under VMWare Server

I am attempting to install Minix 2.0.4 under VMWare Server under
Windows. I have combined the ROOT and USR floppy images, and it boots,
but Minix says it is unable to mount the root file system. If anyone
has an answer or idea, I'd love to hear it. Also, this happens under
Microsoft Virtual PC. Minix does run under Bochs (http://
bochs.sourceforge.net). Thanks in advance.

I built a Minix 2.0.4 virtual machine with no difficulty somewhat more
than a year ago.

are
links to several articles about Minix and VMWare, as well as the
complete download package for the virtual machine.

This doesn't answer the question of why you are having difficulty
doing
the install yourself on VMWare server. I originally made my package
using VMWare Workstation version 1.0.1 and I haven't worked with
any newer versions of VMWare except for the free VMWare player.
