i'm a linux user who besides a quite modern cyrix pc owns a XT laptop with
no hd and two 1,44 fds. i've heard that minix would run on it, i don't
expect much: vi editor, c compiler with min. libraries and headers and a
terminal program would suit my needs. i'm looking for a minix wizard who
would prepare 2 1,44 disk images, with basic stuff, cos i've failed to do it
myself ... (if you decide to answer please send me a private mail).

I wouldn't do that if I were you. You can run Minix on a non-hd system,
but it's really not worth the effort. I certainly wouldn't use it to
compile stuff (though I once spent a long day rebuilding the Minix 1.5
kernel on a single-floppy system...).
