I've managed to get ping working :) . The steps were:
1) install WinPCap
2) Run Bochs' NIC Lister, select an entry
3) Modify .bxrc file to include network card info
4) Install Minix from CD ISO to Bochs computer, mentioning "network
card no. 5"
