Sorry for both the OT and the crosspost, but this kind of
call-to-arms is necessarily crosspost (imvho).

I have looked for such NG, and the very few that turned out
to exist, were all DEAD cold.

Would anybody be intrested of trying to create a new broad
NG about the use of the new load of AI (GPT4, Dall-E,
MidJourney, You.com and other) in a variety of scenarios ?

I am testing them for coding (and would be willing to also
test graphic arts creation) and I feel sort of "thunderstruck".

Maybe the old NG's were born in a period of little general
interest, but nowadays the IA impact seem disrupting.
I'd really like to share experiences.

Also humour would be fun (I asked for some hints in
OpenSCAD, which is statically resolved, purely functional
language, and an IA proposed completely crazy code
java-like, resolved at runtime and dynamic reassignments of
variable, with nested functions and other invented features
and non existing operators like "typeof" ... when I uploaded
some WORKING refactored code, It said thanks, and then
explained the code back to me, which was amusingly
surrealistic).

but yes, they are damn smart in reading and explaining code
!!!!

What do you think about trying to request a new NG ?

What do you thing would be a suitable proper name for it ?

I apologize for the OT and Xpost ... but I have really gone
insane with these IA !!!!

In my opinion, this is a very interesting idea.
We should request for one.

Not request, just _create_.

(I went down this road last week...)

comp.ai
is a moderated newsgroup where you can submit findings
and observations; and
comp.ai.shells
is a group in which you can post your chat logs,
if that's your thing. I'd argue that ChatGPT, Bard,
and DALL-E are "ai shells", and it's appropriate to compare
them in that group. Anyway, that's my rational for starting
to use it, and I'm sticking with it. You could use it, too.

(Or not; it's totally up to you. :) )

ng's: snecked slightly, since my newsreader has trouble
with massive crossposts.

There are more comp.ai groups, maybe one of those would be more suited
to your liking. Or there's comp.misc. I've also seen some AI discussion
in rec.arts.sf.written. I wouldn't post an un-annotated chat log in some
groups though, I've found that to be frowned upon in some circles.

Finally, I have an article I've been working on for comp.ai.shells
that compares Bard and ChatGPT:GPT4...

Check the comp.ai.* hierarchy and post to one of the groups. Maybe
there are still readers.

You can also spread the information about the hierarchy, so other
people might start reading.

Just tell Pan to comply with your orders. I just did.
