There is a couple of considerations (alway are!), first consider an upgrade to RedHat 6.2.
I honestly think that this is one of the best ditributions going at the moment. 6.2 is
very solid indeed.
On the other and you could trace through all of the files that X initializes from and correct
what ever the issue may be. That is of course if the problem is indeed with the initialization
and the data in those files.
Also you could go to helix an just down load sawfish and the required libraries and install that.
You might get lucky and clear the issue by doing that. I rather like sawfish it is just the nuts
for when your running a laptop.
