Hi,

I used to be a big user of HP-UX CDE. Just put up Linux 5.2. Some docs
mention that CDE is available but a trip to www.redhat.com says they no
longer distribute it. Yahoo!Store Triteal store area is no longer there. A
trip to www.triteal.com shows a 'trial download' area, but no price
mentioned.

No biggy, some of the other window managers look great, just wanting to know
what the heck happened.

Thanks,
BJ

I heard last week that TriTeal went under... They were the sole supplier
of CDE on the NCR MP-RAS platform. Support is being usurped by a company
of about 7 ex-employees, I heard. Where I am contracted, AT&T, they are
trying to negotiate the purchase of the source code so they can maintain
this essential software themselves. Scary... I am a Motif/CDE expert,
but I dont feel like maintaining such a huge codebase.

Sorry to hear this. I am using TriTeal CDE on both Linux and SCO
Unixware and have been pleased with the interface.

If you have an original version of Rehdat TriTeal for RH Linux,
you can load the trial version over it and don't need the trial
license. The package recognizes the original. The download has
a few bug patches and security fixes.
