Warning: VERY newbie!

I installed Red Hat Linux 6.0 about a week ago and am getting the hang of
things slowly but surely.

Here's my biggest problem: I can't seem to get my modem to work. As far as I
can tell it's set to the right device
/dev/ttyS0
but I can't get anything to dial

HELP! suggestions? a VERY basic FAQ on PPP setup?

Thanks!

Make sure you don't have a "Win Modem". They won't work in Linux because
they rely on Windows to process everything (they don't have a chipset of
their own).
