Hi All,

I have installed Red Hat 7.0 on my PC using 2G disk space. The swap
partition is around 350M. When I re-install Red Hat 7.1, it seems that
Red Hat has created an additional ~ 140M swap file /SWAP, because
there is 260M memory in my PC. This makes my Linux only has very
little space left (now only 5M).

Could I delete the /SWAP file to allow for more space? (As I think
I would only use the Linux as desktop sometimes and loading is not
very high.)

Moreover, do you know how to delete the file?

Thanks a lot!

Regards,
Wilson.

The hard part will be to ensure that the file is not in use as swap
space when you delete it. The safest way to do this is:

1) Remove the line in /etc/fstab that refers to the file
2) Reboot
3) Delete the file
