Suse 7.3 installation

I am trying to install Suse linux 7.3.
Problem 1: At first when I tried to install, the screen would go blank
whenever I selected "Install."
Problem 2: I went into text mode to install. It says:
"Uncompressing Linux Kernel"
then
"Ran out of input
Halting system"
Then nothing else happens.
What I'm I doing wrong here?

Did you check to make sure all your hardware was compatible with this Distro
of Linux before you started the install??
Not trying to be mean but before you install you should make sure all your
hardware is supported.
It would help if you were more descriptive about what is happening....
Machine specs maybe...???
Are you sure the CD's are not damaged (md5 checksum??) If you bought them at
the store prolly not.. but info like this is helpfull.
Kind of a "help us help you thing"
