I use slackware 3.3, XF86_SGVA 3.3, krnl 2.0.30, Cirrus GLCD-5428/1MB

My display doesn't use up monitors width completely. About 5-10% of
monitor width is not used on the either side by the X display.

This doesn't happed when I use lower resolution (800x600) than now
(1024x768).

Thanks,
Rakesh.

You can use the program "xvidtune" to adjust the NARROWness and WIDEness
of the screen, and you can use the resultant numbers..but do a
'man xvidtune' for further details..Regards

Try adjusting the screen with your monitor controls (on the monitor
itself).

xvidtune might help -- but it does require that your monitor definition
is accurate.
