Hi everybody,

these days I have performed a clean install of Squeeze on my late iBook
G4 (1.3 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM) and am quite happy with the results. Debian is
really usable on my system.

However, there is some trap I would like to resolve.

Suspend/standby doesn't always work as expected. Opening the lid wakes
up the system, but may (in about 1 out of 5 situations) send the system
after 5 seconds of console wakeup messages straight back to sleep. The
second wakeup attempt by randomly touching the keyboard always works as
expected. I have installed pmud, not pbbuttonsd; no more power-specific
software so far.

Any solutions for this behaviour?

Not really a solution for your problem, just an experience report:

I have pbbuttonsd (and the squeeze system is not very up-to-date) and
I suspend by pressing the power button and resume by pressing an
arbitrary key. Opening or closing the lid has no effect (not sure if
I have tried it). The iBook is the 1GHz variant.
