I am trying to get a ramdisk based kernel and file system working with an
NSF server, but have been having little success.
I am using HardHat Linux 2.1 (kernel 2.4.2) running on a PowerPC 405GP. The
ramdisk kernel boots fine, and all seems well with this, but when trying to
start the NFS server, I get RPC errors. Some kernel investigations lead me
to realise that the kernel thread [rpciod] wasn't being started. After a
little hacking, this thread now gets started, but I still get the same RPC
error.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have a ramdisk based version of Linux
and run an NFS serve. If so, are there patches, hacks etc that need to be
done to make it work.
Any help would be most gratefully.

BTW, the final output during boot is:
