Trouble with ATI Radeon driver

Hi,
i have installed Lubuntu 12.04. on a Power Macintosh G4 AGP Graphics
machine. The installation went well and i can start the graphical
environment called LXDE Desktop.
Now i got strange behavior when i launch an application like firefox.
The Computer freezes and the kernel shows some messages like instruction
dump. At this point i cannot exit normally. It seems there is an driver
issue.
The graphical card is a Radeon RV 250 (Radeon 9000).
Have you an idea what do?
