OK, I'm trying to install Redhat 6.0 on my Compaq LTE Elite 4/50cx via
ftp using a Xircom cem33 PCMCIA card. The first problem I have is that
the cem33 doesn't show up in the list of cards after I use the PCMCIA
disk. I figured it might be able to use one of the other drivers, and
when I looked for supported cards, I found that that the something
something Pro was listed under the same driver. Oh good! I tried
using that one and it just hung the laptop. Then I tried all the other
drivers. They didn't hang the computer, but I got an error message
saying that it couldn't find the card. Oh, the Apricot 853?? would let
me continue with the install, but I would never get any communication
over the card.

So, what I'm thinking is that I may have to pass on some user options
(rather than "autoprobe") to correct for the type of card and/or PCMCIA
setup in the Compaq LTE Elite when I use the driver that hangs my
laptop. What these options could be I don't know, but I sure would
like it if one of you could help out!

The other thing that I'm thinking is that maybe there is a pcmcia.img
for use with the RH6.0 install that would easily recognize my
system/cem3 card, or maybe I could make my own image (I have no idea
how, but am willing to learn)

So, if someone could provide some solutions that would be awesome,
dude! If my questions are answered somewhere else please point me in
the right direction (I've already read quite a bit though).

TIA, Jason
