i installed a nis-server with several nis-clients. Each time i create a new
nis-client in the /etc/passwd of the nis-server, i have to reconfigure all
the environment parameters (KDE, desktop ..).
Is there no way to customize this for all users, a little bit lik a kind of
'profile'?
thanks

Sure. You change your "skeleton user's" home directory to have the
appropriate files. Usually this involves creating a template user,
setting up your preferances the way you want them, and then copying
that user's home directory into the skeleton user's.
The location of the skeleton home directory varies depending on how
you add users. I've only used it with `adduser', not `useradd'. And
it certainly won't work if you're adding users by hand using `vipw'
(or, Heaven forfend, editing /etc/passwd manually).
Note that you will need to be exporting the user's home directories
from someplace using e.g. NFS. If you aren't, then yes, you do have
to add each user's profile et al. by hand on every individual
machine. But you can still create a skeleton directory and copy it
from your central server to the clients using e.g. scp.
