I am also interested in mounting ufs-partitions into my
linux-directory-tree. I have Solaris-x86 2.5 installed on /dev/sda2 and
Linux on /dev/sda5, /dev/sda6, /dev/sda7, /dev/sda8.
I have compiled the kernel 2.0.29 with ufs-, bsd- and smd-support.
Thanks for any help.

After not getting any replies to this post I checked the source code and
mailed the author of the ufs section. The basic story is that there is NO
ufs support under Linux...yet.
According to Adrian Rodriguez <adr...@franklins-tower.rutgers.edu> the
ufs stuff in the source tree was not ready for general use and he
"strongly disrecommend[s] anyone using the UFS code that is in the Linux
tree".
Try this patch : ufs-0.4.3.tar.gz for 2.0.17 but
it do works for my 2.0.27 . Follow instructions in it.
See in sunsite/unc/edu/pub/Linux/system/Filesystems.
This give you ability to mount read only UFS partitions.
The primary site for patch 0.4.3 is ftp.math.tau.ac.il
(/pub/yogo/ufs).
But I can encourage everybody to try it. We really want to know about
any experiences with it, especially its stability. So try it, use it
and don't forget to send bug reports to the maintainers.
