I initially loaded Mandrake 8.2 and it installed flawlessly. So I
download Mandrake 9.0 and did a fresh install. On CD 1 it stated that
it could not load XFree86, do I want to quit or continue. I figured I
was pretty much hosed at this point but wanted to see how far I could
get, so I chose continue. I then had the same errors on the dhcp
client (could not load) and it choked on making the boot disk
(mkbootdisk).
At first I thought it was bad media, so I redownloaded the iso files,
did a md5 checksum, burnt them @ 2x speed, yada yada.
Different media, but the EXACT same errors on the same packages. So I
did a 8.2 install, and chose the upgrade option. Still no go (no X,
no DHCP, no boot disk)
Since then I have gone back to 8.2 and am functioning quite happily
but I am looking for confirmation from others to see if they are
having the same problems on same or different equipment, or if there
are any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance,
Pablo.
