Am I barmy or can I get this to work?

I am very new to Linux and have just taken a plunge and installed Mandrake
7.2 which is fantastic and has inspired me after my previous foray into
Linux (redhat 5). All my stuff works fine, printer, scanner, soundcard -
everything. However, I do have a Jornada 720 handheld PC which I use for
business, its very handy to take all my appointments with me.

I'm not particularly bothered about using it to synchronise my emails, but
is there a solution somewhere so I can take my calendar and contacts
information with me and consign Windows to the dustbin at last.

I'd be grateful if someone could help.

I'm in the same condition as you - with my Jornada 540. Unfortunately
months of searching has yielded no solution except a PPP hack that allows
you to connect to the handheld, but still can't help you sync your stuff
with any exisiting Linux calendar or contact manager.
My hopes are on a company named chillware (http://www.chilliware.net/)
that is releasing a full-featured contact/calendar managment software for
Linux. I've contacted them already, and they said it would definately sync
to the Jornada. I've already pre-ordered my copy.
