I have a problem with telnet; I am trying to get loopback to work, but I
always get 'network is unreachable'. I am running slackware 1.1.1, kernel p14,
and used the install script for the netwerk disks n1-n3. After I that I went
through the config files and compared them to the NET-2 howto info, but couldn't
find anything wrong. My config files are:
hosts:

127.0.0.1 localhost

networks:

loopback 127.0.0.0
localnet 127.0.0.0

NETWORKING (yes, or no, doesn't make a difference in what I get. The value it
had after configuring was 'yes'

host.conf

order hosts
multi on

I don't know if any other files should be included here, for instance inetd.conf,
please tell me if crucial information is missing.
The 'route' command gives nothing, only the headers of the table. Things like:

exedoria:/etc# route add localhost
SIOCADDRT: Address family not supported by protocol
exedoria:/etc# route add default
SIOCADDRT: Address family not supported by protocol

give errormessages.

I am lost, and would really like to have loopback. Does anybody have
suggestions for fixing it? I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Peter
