About patching the kernel: it says to run "patch -p1 <
pc2-latest.patch.gz", but there's no gzipped file. I downloaded a
tarball, and there are patch files in it, so I assume that's what I was
supposed to use.
So I tried patching those files, but there isn't any iomega_pc2.* files
to begin with, so I can't really patch them. I can copy the files into
the drivers/scsi directory, but then there's this "cfg" file that I don't
know what to do with. Supposedly it's supposed to go in the same
directory, but I don't see any other cfg files in there (or anywhere else
in the source). Any ideas about where I should put this? It looks like
it's supposed to be a config file for the driver that can be changed when
needed (one thing it has in it are the heads and cylinders of the drive,
which may need to be changed according to the README file).
The last thing I need to figure out is how do I get these files to be
included when I run "make config"? According to the notes patching the
files should take care of it, but I'm not able to patch. It says to hack
the kernel patch manually if I don't use the patch program, but I have no
idea how to do that.
If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it. I really need to get some files
off these disks for a friend, and I messed up the computer the Bernoulli
drive was working on (a 386 running Win3.1).
