Bonjour,

I have an ASUS P5WD2 Premium mobo with an integrated sound card: Realtek
ALC882D.

I have a lot of interferences and the sound is not very clear.

As I have the same distro (fedora 10) on my laptop with no sound
problems, so I think that the sound card is not good and I am wondering
if I can solve my problem with an external sound card.

Does anyone have some recommandations to buy and install an external
(usb?) card which is fully supported under linux?

Thanks.

How bad is the interference?

Though there is no reason you cannot add a sound card...
the on-board card should at least function.

Is there a possibility you are getting radio frequency interference
picked up by your speaker wires?

Sometimes, this can be fixed by lowering the volume of or muting all
unused inputs.

What features do you need?

Any device that does not need separate driver, i.e., that works with the
built-in drivers of Windows or OS X will also work with Linux. This is
sometimes advertised as "class-compliant".
