I don't know any official FAQ. But I have written a (not yet
complete) FAQ for comp.os.linux.development.system and
comp.os.linux.development.apps. If anybody know an official
FAQ I would very much like to hear about it.

I've always thought that the FAQ's were the docs that came with the
distro.

Yes, because most distributions include FAQs for application
development. That's right.

Yes there is. The faq should be posted to news.answers and comp.answers,
which is how faqs.org generate their content. This needs approval, the
process for which is outlined on faqs.org.

Then again, when I submitted a FAQ for approval, I got no response at all.

Probably could use some questions/answers on IDEs (KDevelop, [x]emacs,
vim/xterm), GUI builders (eg: designer, glade) GUI programming ( GTK+, GTK--,
Qt,WxWindows), general dev tools (autoconf/automake/libtool/make/gdb/electric
fence/.....), interpreted programming languages (Python, Perl, Tcl, Ruby, ... )

Good suggestions; get started on these and email them to Kasper when
you're finished :-)

Oh, I forgot to answer that posting.

Surely I will add them to the list as soon as I recieve the mail.
I'm very selective about which threads I follow on this NG. A lot
of the mentioned topics I don't read about and don't know that
much about them.

Hey everybody can't know everything. And like my signature says
I'm spending far too much time here already. ;-)
