This is a bugfix of the last release of LyX, version 0.8a. 0.8.2 seems
so far to be _much_ more stable than 0.8a.
LyX is a wordprocessor frontent to LaTeX, which gives both the
ease-of-use of a wordprocessor, and the flexibility and power of LaTeX.

LyX-0.8.2 is available as source-only at
ftp://ftp.via.ecp.via.fr/pub/lyx (always has latest source)
and with an a.out linux binary (libXpm statically linked since some
libXpm libraries are incompatibile with Xforms) at my Web-site

it is an http link, though, not an ftp link, so you should make sure
yuor browser is set to download to a file, rather than try to view, the
file.
