How low can a Linux PC go?

| If the Asian networking out of the box specialists NorhTec are to be believed
| the answer is very low indeed: how does $85 (£41) sound?

| Obviously you don't get bells and whistles at this price point, but throw
| something like Puppy Linux at it and you do get one of the cheapest fully
| functional PCs on the planet.

In the UK, wasn't Vista about 7 times more expensive than this whole PC
(hardware and software)? I'm talking about the uncrippled edition, with all
the bugs, WGA, and lack of software/hardware compatibility out of the box.
Amazing. If only the Financial Times and the likes of it had people aware of
Linux...

An eSys machine with a 2GHz+ class processor costs around GBP100, which is
still a third of the high-street price of Windows CeMeNT.
