I should really also make a comment about the title of this thread......
"Techloons" is not doing it for me...... I preferred the original
(attempt at an insult) by someone who sadly hid their identity
(otherwise I would have happily credited them) Their name for the show,
which displayed humour and quick thinking was simple:

Cheers Chris. Of course unlike Flatfish I am happy for my views and
posts to be researched and checked. Honest held belief in Linux being
the best solution for me is my basis. As for Flatfish et al...who knows
what their basis is.

One things for sure though, I am not alone when I say that the Flatfish
type behaviour is what causes so much advocacy of alternatives. If it
wasn't for similar people to Flatfish over on Microsoft-Watch all those
years ago, I would never have created Openbytes started an audiocast or
even become involved in deploying Linux to others.

People like Flatfish make it personal. That merely strengthens the
resolve of Linux users or any user of an alternative to Microsoft.

Because of the actions of people like Flatfish, when you do have a
person who genuinely likes a Microsoft product, they are viewed
immediately with suspicion. This can be seen on so many forums around
the net and I don't just mean by Linux users.

Of course its too late now for them to backdown and Im not really sure
if they care about Microsoft products at all..

The one thing they do care about though is Linux. Thats why you have
Flatfish with his pencil at the ready, waiting for the next Techbytes show.

I suppose its a compliment.

I turned the volume up very loud and listened to that section several
times, and it's still not clear to me what you said. It sounded like
you said "I had a Twitter account" and "I didn't create a logo" and "I
was frightened" and maybe something about no articles for two months.

Your accent is very strong, and you talk too quickly, and you didn't
enunciate some words clearly enough.

Next time give us a written transcript - where the discussion is
organized by topic - so there's no chance for confusion and nobody has
to waste their time listening to/reading the whole thing (not that I did

They definitely have a copyright or trademark case against a false
'MicrosoftLegal' account on Twitter, but it's not worth their time.

See, they're a big, successful business, and they don't have time to

If there is any confusion, it's 100% your fault for making a bad
recording, and not stating clearly "Somebody created a fake
MicrosoftLegal account on Twitter and followed me."

Instead it sounded like this to me "I had a Twitter account called

Microsoft Legal... which was obviously fake... I hadn't even gone to
the effort of making a logo... etc"

You need to speak more slowly, and speak into the mike, and enunciate
your words better, ie I'm sure my slight Southern American accent would
be misinterpreted if I wasn't careful.

Ive been given an extra boost of enthusiasm. I only had the word of
other Linux advocates here that you trolls act in a dishonest way and
misrepresent people...that was until now when I experience it myself.

Unlike you, Ive got projects to work on and unfortunately I don't have
the time to be in COLA any more tonight. We're working on a video
version of TechBytes, Ive been invited to another audiocast to guest on
and Ive got more articles to publish...articles which whilst you call
"simpleton" seem to be liked by sites like Tuxmachines, Distrowatch,
Groklaw, Lloydlaw and many others who link to them.

Appart from your childish insults here, what have you got to show for
yourself? I think its obvious where the evidence of "simpleton" is.

I'll hopefully be following up on all the fun and games tomorrow....

Oh and I will ask Roy about his accent. It will be a great question for
the Q&A. You might not listen to it, but Flatfish will, he's quite the
fan and Im sure he'll tell you.
