The facts remain that:
1) GOG is generally very fast to download games in Windows.
2) Through Lutris, downloading the same game through what is presumably
the same server never goes faster than 10MB/sec with an average of 2MB/sec.
3) People posted all over the web complaining on GOG speeds, yet:
4) On the same connection and the same computer, using GOG in Windows
once again delivers fantastic speeds.
They truly seem to be throttling the speed on Linux. I don't understand
why since GOG is the one game service which doesn't have DRM in its
games. Such things are celebrated by the people who run Linux. With that
in mind, the company has no reason to alienate Linux users not only by
throttling the speeds but by refusing to release a Linux version of
their game delivery client.
So yes, you can call me crazy. However, I invite you to try downloading
a large GOG game through Lutris yourself and show me where I am wrong.
