I don't think that enough people protest against this because, as the INQ said
a while ago, media moguls find sneakier ways of secretly embedding DRM (they
wanted to change target with names too, e.g. 'enablement'). I've been
associated with the FSF's DRM elimination crew for a while, but I get no real
response to issues that I raise with those who do not understand technology.
As Sun's CEO said, people's will only realise it when it's too later and put
in simple terms --- your entire photo collection (family album) is gone; along
with other collections that have sentimental value...
Bruce S and Peter G have also written to explain why DRM will mean a security
nightmare. It's not about encrypting for the user's security... it's only
security for the monopolists' cash flow, at the _expense_ of real security.
