I'm not counting anything Erik, I just run Turquoise on my news spool.
Looks like theres a bug in his code, possibly relating to the dates.

Thankfully it's Free Software and someone can fix it, because the source code
is part of the package :)

That person won't be me however as his code is C++.

You can not read. Thats no surprise, idiots and assholes like you in
general are unable to think coherently.
There is clearly stated that slrn is used with 3005 Messages.
Not with 3005 posters. Sheesh

It's got nothing to do with his debating skills, and everything to do
with his newsreader that can't wrap text properly (and doesn't even
produce a legal sig separator).

Obviously you'd have to do that for every newsreader
to get a comparison. All this says is there's lots of active posters on
cola using slrn, which I don't find surprising in the least. Go to csma
and you get different results.

What seems surprising here is the apparant popularity of x86 based
newsreaders. But there are two or three very active wintrolls on csma
so, yes, I guess if you did divide the figures by the average
number of posts made per poster it would even things out.

What you really have to do is to correlate newsreader with individual
posters and bear in mind some people use more than one newsreader,
depending if they're posting from work - probably OE, or home - whatever
they like.

I looked at the code for Turquoise SuperStat 2.1.1, but I don't
understand most of it... It should be possible to do, though.

I need another coffee...

Yes the poor Mac folks are Wintroll infested too!

Congrats on your Leafnode and Turquoise installs.

I didnt even bother to look in the code as I'm only up to C!

I've got a couple of other stats apps here that are written in C,
news_stats-0.0c, and Statnews which is a Deb package.

Might as well bury him too.

It must be. I have by now "xover"ed Kulkis (i.e., kill at the suck
level), but back in februari I analyzed his posts in my 2-week old inn
spool (see news:slrn998s4a...@agena.island.nl). In that period
he made 557 posts which totalled to 19349 lines of quoted text and 6687
lined of original text (excluding the signature, including white space).
So that was a 26% original text ratio. I can't imagine that he upped
that to 68%....

Cheers,
Rob
