R.I.P. Net Neutrality, June 11th, 2018.
Apparently, someone, somewhere is throttling my YouTube now;
it takes 5 minutes to download 1 minute.

NOthing unusual here, Rolf. "kensi" and Nads have to be sure that even
though you live in a lib infestation on the left coast, that you are not
secretly downloading rightwing "propaganda" like say these:

Sorry Rolf, but no libs own gun shops. First of all that would be a real
job and no lib is capable of actually running a real business (Proof the
lib-run food coop near the university where they nearly poisoned all
customers) and certainly none can deal with any kind of dangerous
mechanical equipment such as chainsaws or guns. Darwin would soon own
the liberal "business" as you demonstrate so aptly above.

What do you identify with Rolf?

I'm a liberal but a gun owner... One of the many rational,

pretend doesn't exist.

Wow! A reasonable, competent, practical, liberal gun owner?

Talk about your silent majority!

Come on, you aren't really a lefty liberal. I bet you are what was
termed a "Jeffersonian liberal" which is what today's conservatives used
to be called.

Right. I divide facts into "True facts" and "Liberal fantasies".
Pretty much black and white. You on the other hand see all statements as
"nuanced"...which is to say potential or actual prevarications.

He's probably not as dumb as he seems. He's just a shameless liar,

It was always astonishing, to me, how the Wintrolls would attack FOSS
advocates, as "hypocrites", if they used any proprietary software at
all. You couldn't say anything bad about Microsoft, or anything good
about GNU/Linux, unless you quit your job for the Linux cause.

Really?

I'm mean, right there, they declare themselves to be irrational kooks.
And they marched in lock-step!

Libs ALWAYS accuse their critics of doing exactly what they ALWAYS do.
It's right in their manual. It's just SOP for all con-men crooks.

Find a lib telling the truth and find a true miracle!

I was wired to a LinkSys AC1900 ( EA6900 ) router, and didn't know it.

"xFinity Speed Test" shows:
On Router: 1.6 / 3.7 ( down / up, MegaBits/Sec )
On Modem: 27.2 / 5.9
Rebooting didn't help; router settings are at the default.

It's like night and day, dialup vs broadband !
Now, YouTube is happy to give me 40+ MegaBit/Sec peaks.
Pages load much, _much_ faster.

I don't get it.

What did you do, exactly?

> What did you do, exactly?

I failed to restore the wire after testing the LinkSys router;
then forgot about it.

It really, really slowed things down; big time.

I went from watching tons of 4k videos to
waiting 5 minutes to get 1 minute of LowRes (360p) video.

Pages were taking an eternity to load.

Is my LinkSys AC1900 ( EA6900 ) fucked up ?
Should I trash it ? We'll see.

Don't wont to measure on modem ;p

I have AC58U Asus, got it yesterday.

With my good old trusty WR841N and DD-WRT I got much better results ;)

I was using two of those AC1900 routers;
they're in the dumpster now.

Quality cables help a lot, but this wasn't the problem.
The routers were just bad; WiFi or wired, the result was the same.

> I have AC58U Asus, got it yesterday.

62$US ! the routers I tossed were 200$ each, 6+ years ago.

My Asus ROG ac5300 router costs 425$, after 10% tax, at Amazon;
it's a Quad Core, with 8 MuMiMo antennas, and 8 LAN Ports.

The ac5300 tells me how many gigs each "device|site" is consuming,
over days/weeks/months, and the BitRate.

> speedtest.xfinity.com/results/JIEWEMS5L5Y93UT

How much does it cost ?
who's paying for it ?
and is there a data cap ?

I have no cap ( unlimited Gigs ) and a 8 MiliSec ping;
yours is 277 MiliSecs. My landlord pays for it, 85$/month;
it's Business Class, for a repairman comes in less than 24 hours.

My xFinity modem/router is brand new.

For that money it should kook launch ;)
But I wait for proper open firmware support and voila same thing
on cheap router ;)

Yes, 100/6 bandwidth limit, no data cap.

Well, I have 6msecs in my country. From here to USA is another story.
And 277 is pretty bad even for USA from here.

I pay 20 euros.

You'll be LongDead before then, I think.

Not bad, but I pay nothing, zero.
