Does anyone know why Geoworks stock (GWRX) is sliding so drastically?

Have you read their annual or quarterly reports?

Geoworks is not a solid investment. They have been operating in the red
for several years ( and they project several more). I think the price of
GWRX was over inflated when it was up around $10 and you are seeing a
correction.

Another factor is the general decline in price of stocks over the last 2
weeks.

Of course this is just my speculation...I am not a stock analist.

I don't know anything specific, other than a *lot* of stocks dropped
significantly in the last week or so. Probably, the stocks that were less
'speculative' dropped less or perhaps not at all, but the market
generally was down. Also, other factors could be involved with *any* stock
price.

I called the company yesterday (Tue., 11-29-94) and asked
them about the recent dip in the price of their stock.
Their representative said she thought it was because they
are in (or were in) a "trading window" where the company
insiders are allowed to sell their stock (which some obviously
did). She also said the stock is very thinly traded, which I
assume means that not a lot of shares change hands on a typical
day, so presumably a relatively small number of trades could
have an exagerated effect on the stock price.

I also asked her if there was any impending bad news from
Geoworks - she said very strongly that there was not.
She could not comment on new products in the PDA/CCD
market - all she would say was that '95 should be an
"exciting year".

Her explanation makes sense but I can't help wondering why
insiders would be selling their stock at current prices
if they expected good news next year (though I have to admit
I'm not an expert at this kind of thing).

This "trading window" (which closed today) was the first time in
Geoworks' 10+ year history that its employees could exercise their
incentive stock options, so it's not surprising that some of them
cashed in for a few $$$.

Another possibility for the stock price drop is simple profit taking after
the recent runup to almost "double digits", followed by a wave followon
"nervous selling". All-in-all, it adds up to a great buy opportunity for
me. Even if the stock just bounces back to its orignal 6 - 6-1/2 selling
range, a healthy profit will be had. Also, I'm hoping that some of the
strategic alliances will bear tangible fruit in the form of new products
(or at least announcements) in 1Q95. Of course this is only speculation,
but surely someone will announce a new PDA using GEOS 2.1 at least.
