Hi!

While fiddling around with a new Geos-app, I noticed that either
Windows (in my case WinXP-SP2) is blocking the COM-Ports or that the
different Geos-versions behave differently:
* I can access the COM-Ports with Geos2xnc (the version that came with
the N9110-SDK) and NDO98
* Accessing the COM-Ports with NDO2000, BBE and some other
Geos-versions fails.

Is this a known problem? Is there any way to by-pass this problem
(e.g. some test-versions of NDO2000 came with an additional
Windows-software that fiddled around with the COM-ports)? Is this due
to Windows or due to changes in the Geos-stream-library (or other
parts of Geos)? What Geos-versions are known NOT to have problems with
the COM-ports?!

Hi Jörg,

I have noticed the same thing at various times working with com ports in Geos.

While working on an app to connect with a digital camera I got differing results
dependong on whether I was running Ensemble from WinNT, Win98 or MS-DOS.

I never got to the point where I did a full test of the serial drivers across
both Geos versions and Win/DOS versions. But I found that serial comms were
most stable when running Ensemble from DOS with Win98 coming in as second most
stable.

Not much help today...
John ;-)
