Did BYTE magazine ever review CP/M-86? If so, in which issue? I browsed
the tables of contents of the issues from 1981 to 1984 but found no such
coverage of the operating system.
If other magazines published reviews of CP/M-86 back then, and
they're available online, I'm equally interested.

Not CP/M-86 but BYTE's review of CP/M Plus, published in the July 1983
issue, is very interesting:
