IDE cd-rom drive for BSD

Good afternoon,
I'm going to install BSD on my system, but first i need to buy a cd-rom drive.
I do not have scsi. I read that BSD (2.0) only supports Mitsumi cd-rom drives
with a special own interface. I am wondering if BSD will support a IDE cd-rom
drive, like the Mitsumi FX300 or FX400. Other brands mention ATAPI (/IDE)
interfaces.
Could you please tell me if BSD supports the Mitsumi FX300 or FX400 cd-rom
drives or other drives via the IDE interface?
