Dear all,

I have a simple question:
I wish to get an Unix OS for my PC, and
I would like to know some opinions on what is
best: FreeBSD 4.4 Lite or Linux 1.2?

When I write "best", I mean:
1. The OS that is less buggy, and
2. The OS that give less problems when
one goes to install/compile packages of
various kind and provenience
(i.e. the os that is closer to a
"true" workstation Unix),and
3. The OS that gives less problem with
hardware (I'm wondering on Linux: it
seems - by reading linux.hardware -
that practically ALL hardware
has at least a problem when udes under Linux!)

Moreover, can somebody tell me what is the best
CD ROM distr. of FreeBSD? The Infomagic or
the Walnut one? (It seems to me that the latter
is better equipped than the former...)

Thanks in advance,

Salvatore
